"Windwalker" is a personal project inspired by the novel of Alain Damasio originally called "La horde du contrevent".
The Story in the book is set in a dystopian world, crossed by a single wind blowing constantly in one direction only, shaping nature and humanity's way of life.
For this project, I created the city of Sludwell, a bastion set on what used to be the mouth of a lake and who now use the rich ground to grow foods Setting their city in a certain way to protect it from the wind, the citizen of Sludwell learned to use the deadly wind to their advantages by building
canals and giant dug fields between them.
As the Wind is central to this world, the idea was to aim the shape langage as much as possible toward this element.
Therefore, I used a wind's map to draw the walls around the fields and to design the silhouette of the main city.
I also took some inspirations from the first middle eastern empires for the society and architectures like the babylonian, persian and egyptian empires.
